TESTIMONIALS

Very nice flights—wonderful to go directly from Chicago without having to go to the west coast or Tokyo.  The Westin was particularly outstanding but all were very good to excellent. Some of the best experiences were unplanned or when the guides made suggestions about certain things – stopping on the road back from Yangshuo to buy and eat fresh grapefruits, the chairlift and alpine slide at the Great Wall, having lunch on the veranda of the farmer’s house and watching him cook, getting our ears cleaned at the teahouse in Chengdu, holding a baby panda etc.  Our guides were very flexible and accommodating.

(Recommend Access China Tours?) Absolutely! Everything went like clockwork, only one minor travel glitch on our train home (back to Shanghai) from Suzhou….We had a great time overall and would not hesitate to recommend the trip and Access China Tours.

S. & F. Silverman --- Maryland, USA (Private Trip, October 2004)

Yes, superior guides, outstanding hotels, and great selection of tourist sites.  Karen was the best guide.  She was helpful, informative, pleasant, and professional.  We like the various tours and plan to take another Access China tour in the future.

 P. T. Polivka --- Florida, USA (HGR, October 2004)

All hotels were first class.  I was very impressed with the facilities and staff, especially at the Grand Hotel Beijing… All details were taken care of, and the price was reasonable.  The guides were knowledgeable – and very fun and friendly.  Eveything ran according to schedule.  Worry-free vacation.   I really enjoyed myself, and only wish I had more time.  I really enjoyed meeting the Chinese people.  They were all very friendly and polite.  I would enjoy going back again.

Skrzypek --- Michigan, USA (HGT, Oct 2004)

Mark, just to let you know we're now on the Yangtze River Cruise & having a very good time.  The guides/agents have been great.  Don't know what we'd do without them.  The Smiths & others have turned out to be ideal travel companions.  We'll try to join them on their canal tour while in Shanghai.  We really like the rural China & archaelogical stuff.  Thanks again.

We arrived back in San Francisco yesterday afternoon & plan to repair & spend some time with my parents who have flown in from Portland.  Bob wants you to know what a fabulous trip it has been & compliment you on the itinerary.  We definitely wished we had more time to visit Shanghai.  We would have had the morning before our flight, but the eating finally caught up with Bob & he had a bout with diarrhea..... Despite this inconvenience we all had a great time & are already talking about returning to China after the Olympics..... Flying domestically is very smooth-after 8 airports &9 flights.  Agents did a fabulous job with the airport.  I'd heartily recommend your company to anyone contemplating a trip to China.

J. & R. Reynolds --- Alaska, USA (YZ3, October 2004)

J and I just got back and we wanted to say how pleased we were with our trip. The facilities, accommodations, guides, food, companionship and flexibility were terrific.  We can be called upon for references.  If you wish to discuss further please call.

K. & J. Rekrutiak --- British Columbia, Canada (HGT, October 2004)

We are fully in love with China!  This has been a wonderful experience.

                                                                                                                                          M. Villegas --- USA (HGP, September 2004)

Yes, absolutely.  The personalized service was the greatest asset of this company, which is hard to find today.  A “live” person was always available.

B. & M. Rudofsky --- New Jersey, USA (Private, June 2004)

First of all, the trip was the most exciting and personally fulfilling of my long lifetime.  The Westin Shanghai--Not five stars but 6!!! …our 2 rooms were outstanding as well as beautiful.  WOW.  The food too was incomparable.  Breakfast areas where every type of national breakfast was available for self-service, and impeccable presentations of food.  Music trio playing in the lounge every morning, the glass steps lit in changing color from red to green to all colors of the rainbow.  My my.

The bar (on Victoria cruise ship) was beautiful and the tenders there knew how to prepare a mean Margarita as well as Bloody Marys.  …. This end of the ship was quite nice with a good dance floor (Mary and I danced a bit), comfortable seats for viewing the Gorges and scenery.

I had acupuncture from the ship's doctor Hu, and it worked fine.  We enjoyed the Tai-chi in the morning, ...  The style show was gorgeous.  I enjoyed most looking at the mist, the mountains, the farming techniques, goats and birds, and all the flora that is just like ours in California - banana trees, magnolias, navel oranges...

Our room at the Beijing was another beauty.  We faced the Imperial Gardens, and each morning I would watch the Tai-Chi, the badminton players, the bicyclists.  Downtown Beijing is like a little village with its bicyclists and morning health seekers.

Best of all was seeing my old home (in Shanghai), still standing, still being used (as an office) and meeting all those lovely people who loved the house and let me walk through it at my leisure, opening locked doors.  It was a very emotional time for me, and truthfully, I could have left China right after that experience.  Fortunately, I did not.  Thank you Mark for arranging such a glorious 10 days.

A. Premack --- California, USA (YZ1, May 2004)

Mark, I just wanted to thank you for all your efforts in arranging such a fantastic trip for my husband and me.  I really appreciate all you did to accommodate our needs and ensure that this trip was a memorable one.  I especially appreciated your professionalism, attention to detail and consistently quick responses to my many questions/requests.

Our guides were outstanding... They made our trip very memorable and gave us the opportunity to learn about Chinese culture and to have experiences - such as talking with the owner of an antique shop in Hangzhou or with the medicine man in Daxu or with a small boy on the dragon boat at the Summer Palace - that we could not have had without them serving as interpreters.  The were all extremely friendly and knowledgeable.  I would like to acknowledge Mr. Zhou (in Hangzhou) for going above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our visit to his city was special.

The hotels were superb, the itinerary/sightseeing was wonderful and the travel arrangements (flights, train, cars, boat) were great.  I am truly impressed with Access China Tours and would highly recommend your company to anyone who is planning a trip to China. Thanks again for everything.

C. Kleinschmidt --- Delaware, USA (HGP, April 2004)

Thanks Mark!  Your responses were always prompt, clear, professional and with consideration for our special requests.  For a first visit to China, I wouldn't change a thing.  Great service, competitive price; all the guides were great!  They made China fun for a 6 year old.  And, they each went out of their way to accommodate even a trivial wish... We enjoyed the opportunity to eat with our guide and driver.  It provided an informal way to learn/understand current Chinese culture...  Thought you might enjoy the website that we put together to share with our daughter's friends, relatives and classmates! http://home.mindspring.com/~kp.s-china-adventure/  All the best.

E. Blackwood---California, USA (Private Trip, October 2003)

Excellent command of English that guides had made their excellent knowledge of the country come through to us.  Enjoyed our visit to Sanxingdui Archaeological Museum and very glad you, Mark, knew about this fascinating discovery.  We had a super wonderful time thanks to you for knowing how to go from point A to point B and discover interesting places along the way for us to enjoy.

S & D Siegel---New York, USA (Private Trip, October 2003)

We highly recommend Access China (Tours).  We had an excellent vacation.  All the arrangements were done well, and we appreciated all the extra work that went into rescheduling us from April to October.

R. & S. Knox---California, USA (Private Trip, October 2003)

Hi Mark - Sorry for the delay in replying.  Have had great difficulty getting onto hotmail.com this past few days.  The trip is going great - will give you full report on our return but for the most part, everything has been just excellent.  The guides in Xi'an and Kunming were excellent - both made the visits to the local sites most enjoyable...(email from China on Oct. 24).  Well I am sitting in the Shanghai airport waiting for my flight to Hong Kong.  The trip has been a great success.  We were both absolutely impressed with the arrangements you made for us on this trip - the hotels, the meals, the guides and the itineraries.  In addition, we had spectacular weather throughout the 3 weeks, which made the travel even that much easier....this trip gets our five star rating. (email from China on Nov 1)

G. McKinstry---British Columbia, Canada (HGL, October 2003)

Yes, overall service was wonderful -- food excellent, cultural experience outstanding, accommodations 5 star.  We had a wonderful time!!

K. & P. White---Washington, USA (YZ2, October 2003)

(Our guide) Jackson's genuine interest in the history of the Great Wall and China in general made him an enthusiastic & fun guide.  Mr. Zhang, the driver, was exceptionally friendly and went out of his way to make sure we had a good time.  We are glad we had an extra day to shop...  Yes, small group size is a big plus.  The best day we had was on the Tang Section of the Great Wall.  We got to see all original wall.  Also, we learned more about Chinese culture in the smaller towns...

K. Davis---Utah, USA (AGW, October 2003)

We were pleased with all of our hotels.  (In Yangshuo) We rented motorized rickshaws and drove out in the villages, which was great!  Love the Chinese acrobats.  Yes, we were very pleased with our trip.  If we went again, we would schedule a private tour through Access China (Tours).

J. Neubauer---Washington, USA (YZ4, October 2003)

Mark, I just got back from my trip to China and wanted to tell you what a great time I had. I will recommend your service to everybody I know who will be going to China. I wanted to make a special note of the service of my guide in Guilin, Ms. Jiang, and the incredible job she did. She made the trip extra special and by the end of our time with her, she became a friend and not just a guide. I want you to know that I will definitely be using your service for any future trip I make to China.  Best regards.

S. Hahn---Wisconsin, USA (Private Trip, August 2003)

All in all, Access China Tours provided us with a great tour. Your staff was excellent as were the hotels. I would recommend Access China Tours. Your guides were punctual, flexible, well mannered, certainly knowledgeable, neatly dressed, and most pleasant.

N. Singerman---Quebec, Canada (Private trip, April 2003)

Yes! Everyone worked with us as individuals and they all were imaginative in helping us do unusual activities or make last-minute changes. We would have wasted a lot of time and worry on the travel arrangements without your help. …

Helen in Guangzhou was great! Wish I’d have more time to purchase both in the market (not scorpions!) and the designer clothing shop. We had fabulous food – she picked the restaurant and chose the dishes. We’d like Helen as our guide next time we visit Guangzhou…

Our guide in Nanning, Deng, was a kick! She very generously provided us with a big bag of food and waited with us in the airport on our way back through to Chongqing. (The food was very handy on our long train ride from Shanghai to Hong Kong.)

Our guide in Suzhou, Tom, did a great job of getting us into a variety of activities very efficiently and made the day trip very worthwhile. He also spoke the best English – he could make language jokes!

E. Haskell---California, USA (Private trip, March 2003)

I saw so many wonderful things and met so many wonderful people that any one week of my itinerary would have been worth a trip in itself. But there were some highlights that were truly life-changing and I will always think of them first when looking back on my first trip to China ....Your service was exceptional. I appreciate all the extra trouble you went through arranging my long, solo trip.

V. Thomas---Portland OR, USA (Private Trip: Sep -Nov, 2002)

Dear all of you who helped make at memorable trip possible!! ... the guides were great, the accommodations the best, the meals delicious, and the sites outstanding... I loved all the extras our guides accommodated us with, Norman was TERRIFIC!! a Huge Thank-you to all and I highly recommend!! Also my single add-on trip to Tibet was all that I hoped for and more... What an experience!! I so appreciated that last min booking!! My guide and driver were the best!! My best wishes for continued success and Healthy Happy Prosperous New Year....

J. Campbell---BC, Canada (HGL, October 2002)

Wow...How can I ever thank you and Access China Tours for making my 23 day trip to China so breathtaking and memorable for all of us in the group who traveled to China from October 18th to November 9th, 2002! ...Your company allowed us such great flexibility with the itinerary such as adding the foot reflexology sessions, the kindergarten visit, the dinners in the hotel after a really tiring travel day rather that heading out...... Because of your company's willingness to accommodate us, we got to night markets and to a park during the day with tea by the river and back massages on the side....

L. Saunderson---Ontario, Canada (HGL, October 2002)

Golden Land and Yangzi Tour Oct. 18 - Nov. 10, 2002

This is the first group tour I have ever taken, I think you did a terrific job! I like the group size and flexibility.

J. Hyatt---Maryland, USA (YZ4, October 2002)

Your Information package to prepare for the trip was excellent and helped better understand what we saw in China.

Mr. & Mrs. Kafka -- Landenberg, PA, USA (HGL, October 2002)

Mrs. Kafka at Wolong Giant Panda Preserve. Oct. 14, 2002

It is impossible to put into words how fully satisfied we were with this trip. The guides without exception were excellent. The accommodations at every stop were the best available and our itinerary could not have been improved on. Even our guides made favorable comments on our (your) choice to spend two nights in Yangshuo so we could enjoy the local color in Yangshuo and Fuli. The choice to walk the Sacred Way in Beijing and forego the Ming tombs was also a wise and time-saving move... Also the side trip to the Hutong was extremely interesting as we were able to visit in the home of a 42 year resident who cheerfully answered all of our questions....

D. Caldwell---Massachusetts, USA (Private Trip, September 2002)

Hi, Cherry, so happy to hear from you. Sorted my 240 pictures out and even have them neatly in an album. Took the pictures to work and everyone oohed and ahhed. I really enjoyed the trip and have told everyone I see that your agency was wonderful and how well you guided us through the journey.

A. Rosen---New Mexico, USA (YZ3, September 2002)

Now that I am somewhat more rested and settling into the general routines of my everyday life, I'd like to let you know about our China trip ...... a wonderful group of people, a wonderful trip, very little to complain about !!

Your organization is to be complimented on the way things were handled, the variety provided, the tour guide named Norman and the other tour guides of lesser 'stature' than Norman.

And now to tell you about Norman ...... a wonderful young man... the best of the best, I guess. He went out of his way for us on a daily basis ... just so excellent. At one point in the trip, I was not well - Norman even went to the 'kitchen' in restaurants and got for me what he felt would improve my general being.... that certainly was beyond the call of duty, was it not? He impressed each and every one of us!
