TESTIMONIALS
We had an outstanding adventure in China – Oct 20 to Nov 16, 2007. Our group was fabulous with Jason looking after all our needs and concerns throughout the trip. Jason and the different guides were excited about sharing their country with us….. The small group size and having a tour manager made moving from site/activity so much easier which in turn allowed us to stay a little longer at many of the sites. The combination of well-known tourist sites ie the Great Wall and the Terracotta Warriors along with the silk Embroidery Institute, Longsheng Minority Village with beautiful rice fields, the jade shop, the Yangling Archaeological Site to name a few made for a very full and fabulous itinerary…Thanks for a trip of a lifetime.
Jane R.---British Columbia, Canada (YZ3, October 2007)
Hi Cherry, I am so sorry to have not gotten in touch with you sooner regarding our trip, but I got sick the night after we returned home and just haven't felt too well since. It is definitely not related to the trip, but is just a "bug" that seems to be going around here.
At any rate, the trip was just super. Jason was the most wonderful leader and did so many special things for John and me - helping us catch up on all of the sightseeing we had missed by getting into Beijing a day late, arranging for us to meet and have dinner with our friend in Chongqing, giving me advice and helping me negotiate several purchases, taking great care for our physical well-being on several occasions such as the walk up to the rice terraces in Longsheng, and on and on.
We also really enjoyed our guide, Lilly, whom we had our first day in Beijing. She was just delightful! All of our local guides were good, particularly WaWa (? spelling) in Xi'an, and one of our favorite visits was to the Yangling Archaeological Site & Museum there! I think that our very favorite day was to Longsheng, although we did find everything in the trip so interesting.
Throughout the trip we felt so well taken care of and knew that Jason could take care of anything that came along. Oh, I also want to say how much we appreciated YoYo - the young lady who took us to the airport in Shanghai. John and I had a little difficulty at check-in - we were upgrading our seats - and she took care of it and did not leave us until we went through the final security check.
Plus, the group we traveled with was such fun. Everyone got along so well and after a few "lazy-susan" meals, we were just like one big family.
Thank you so much for finally getting us to China and for making it such a great experience!
J. Meyer---Louisiana, USA (YZ3, October 2007)
We had a FABULOUS trip, and yes, I did fill out the form. I would travel again with Access China in a minute, and will recommend it to everyone I know. These were the most stimulating, fascinating, eye-opening two weeks and everything went seamlessly EXCEPT the return flight -- but that was American Airlines' fault, not yours.
I am SO tired now, still quite jet-lagged, but very, very pleased. Doyle, our tour manager, is a gem.
B. Harrison---New York, USA (HGR, September 2007)
We enjoyed everything panned for us in PRC. Our guides were all wonderful and allowed my seven 1/2 year old daughter to feel comfortable. Some guides were extra friendly such as Vicky & Kitty – they held my daughter’s hand and ask her questions. Kitty was very pleasant and kept people from trying to solicit us….. ACT is a very dependable company. Thank you.
Allison and Adam---New York, USA (Private, April 2007)
Cherry, we all enjoyed the trip very much. Yes, I did fill out the form the night prior to departing Shanghai. Here are my additional observations and evaluation.
We appreciated the flexibility and cooperation of the guides in adjusting the itinerary. In Kashgar, it made a significant difference. After talking with Jason and Imam, our guides, about the redundancy of seeing another ruin, we were taken through the Uyghur section of the city and that was much more interesting to us and helped to make the day.
Overall, the guides on this trip were significantly better than on our first trip. We do still have very pleasant memories of Norman, our tour director from the last trip. Jason was wonderful to work with; diligent, friendly, and flexible. It would have been less enjoyable and confusing for us without Jason’s attention and handling of the changes in the airline departures and the train delays. The local guide in Xian had an exceptional knowledge of the Terra Cotta Soldiers and his English speaking skills and comprehension was the best I have experienced. Dolkun’s personality and sincere interest in sharing his culture was much appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Imam’s flexibility and spirit of adventure, he helped us buy at sheep at the Opal Monday Market, made for one of the most memorable experiences of the trip.
I believe that the tour experience can be better if the local guides and tour director were encouraged to join the group while dining. That would present the opportunity to have more time to discuss the itinerary, find out about the food being served, and ask questions. I know that not all groups are the same but for us that would have made the experience better. We did sense reluctance from the guides to join us and although we made a concerted effort to encourage the guides to join us, we were not always successful. Also, the meals with the local families would have been better if a member of the family were able to join us and talk about themselves and their lives at some point during the meal.
The personal touch of recognizing Bruce and Rick’s birthdays, and Bruce and Sue’s wedding anniversary was good and appreciated. Again, all in all it was a very good trip. We are already talking about returning to China in 2009 and visiting Tibet and other localities we discussed with Jason. And, we certainly would want Jason to be our tour director again. Thank you for helping us put together another memorable experience.
Sam & Margaret O---California, USA (Private Group, July 2007)
Thanks for your quick response to our request. We had a different van the next day and thereafter, always with seatbelts. We also enjoyed the special dinner you had for us on the Victoria Katarina. That was a nice touch. All four of us had a wonderful trip and would certainly use Access again and recommend it to our friends. I had limited time to fill out the evaluation form, but all the guides and all the places we visited and the restaurants we used were great.
S.S.---South Carolina, USA (Private, July 2007)
Cherry, we did fill out the tour questionnaire and leave it with Joseph as we departed Shanghai for Hong Kong.
Cherry, we can't thank you and the staff of Access China enough for the wonderful job you did. The total trip experience was great, from the activities that you chose to the hotels to the restaurants. We will be sure to recommend Access China to all of our friends that are considering a trip to China.
Hi Cherry, I just arrived home just hours ago, but I wanted to take a few minutes to send a note of appreciation and thanks to Access China Tours for doing such a fabulous job in planning the tour YZ3 (Yangzi,Suzhou, & Golden Route) I participated in with my friend Margo from July 9th-24th. The tour surpassed my expectations!
In the planning stages, Cherry, you were very helpful in answering any of our questions to help us prepare. We were quite excited, not to mention nervous too, taking a trip so far from home and to an unfamiliar country. Our Tour Manager, Joseph, was waiting at the Beijing airport with a friendly face and a calm manner that immediately made us feel welcome and comforted.
Throughout the tour and up to the last minutes, Joseph paid great attention to each individual and made sure that things went smoothly. He was sensitive to the needs of each person, developed an understanding of each person's temperament and handled any problems with care and efficiently. As the days passed, little personal issues arose that Joseph's kind, calming manner and expertise solved quickly and thus enabled me to fully enjoy my trip. He was a great asset to the tour in so many ways, not just because he was there but because of his wonderful personality traits that made him well suited to this role.
Before we left for the trip, I was a little worried that the itinerary might be too full but it turned out to be just right. Margo and I had several personal goals for this trip and they were all met beyond expectation. It was truly difficult to think of any criticisms for the evaluation that we filled out. If you do have any questions about our comments, please do not hesitate to call or email for clarification.
It was truly the time of our lives... We were sad to end our trip and have very many wonderful memories of China and its people. I will highly recommend visiting China and Access China Tours to my travel agent and friends-Thank you again and again!
P. Hess---New York, USA (YZ3, July 2007)
Dear Cherry, We must tell you we were thrilled with the tour and
particularly the A highlight of the trip was the
visit to the Beijing school where Jonah You have an outstanding,
high-quality organization and we'll be N. Jacobson Thank you so much for a great experience. Tiger Lee is the best guide I have ever
had in China. He immediately
understood what we wanted to do (not the usual tourist things) and he made it
work. We will certainly travel with
Access China Tours again, and everyone at St. Lawrence University will be
encouraged to use your services.
Great service from Mark Huang and staff in Vancouver too! Dr. Stephen Robinson Hello Mark: We just wanted
to let you know that everything on our trip has been going fine! When we arrived at the Dingshan Hotel in Nanjing,
Ms. Liu had already left our train tickets with the concierge, and later Lucy
from Beijing called to find out the car number so that Mr. Zhu could meet us
exactly at the right point on the platform in Jinan! Mr. Zhu has
been a wonderful guide and we thank you for assigning one of the top local
persons to us; Hilary and he have communicated so well about all things
related to Kongzi and Mengzi! We have especially enjoyed the ambience of the
old town in Qufu and even rode yesterday in a mache to the local of Kongzu's
tomb. The Taishan experience was great, too, as we had a clear but not too
hot day. The hotels are very good and very comfortable. We will go with Mr.
Zhu and the driver Mr. Jin to the Jinan airport tomorrow for the flight to
Shanghai and will surely be sorry to bid them farewell. Many thanks for
everything and we will be in contact again later. Lewis and Hilary Josephs Dear mark, you should
feel very good about the job you and your organization did in putting
together our recently completed trip to China. Other than one minor problem
in Chongqing, everything went like clock-work. We were led by the best
guides we have ever experienced whose knowledge of the tour highlights was
terrific. The hotels you chose were superb and, with the help of our
guide in Chongqing, we were able to upgrade to the Shangrila Suite on the
Yangzi River cruise...a real experience for us both. I will drop in a
note sharing my sentiments about Access China Tours as well, but wish to
again thank you for your good work. M. and G. Herzog Cherry:
First of all I want to compliment you with the expertise and professionalism
you conducted the entire tour. I never did a tour before, since I always
travel on my own, and joining large groups is not for me. But Gene and I felt
we were treated as if we were part of a VIP contingent. All the guides were
good, Oliver and Christy were great. Tiger Lee was exceptional and we had the
shortest time with him. I think we introduced both Oliver and Christy to
areas they did not go very often and they were flexible and very helpful.
Good weather helped. Any critiques are included in the evaluation I filled
out in China. One minor critique is that the restaurants for lunch in
Shanghai were not up to par with others....and since we were particularly
interested in the art scene it would have made more sense to eat at the museums
and around the gallery areas. Other than that it was superb and I have
already suggested to friends that they call you for their trip. Thank you
very M.
McFaull Thank you for providing us
with a wonderful trip to shanghai. Everything went as planned and we
appreciate your professionalism as well as that of all your colleagues with
whom we came in contact. Thank you again for a great trip – your organization is top flight. Mr.
& Mrs. Ryan---New Jersey, USA (Private, March 2007)
Overall, we are extremely pleased with our Access China Tours experience, both in terms of the quality of hotel accommodations and restaurant and the tailoring of our tour arrangements to our particular interests and needs. Thank you to the organizers both in China and in North America and to all our wonderful guides for working together to make this an experience we will remember fondly and vividly.
Steven
& Diana O---Missouri, USA (Private, December 2006)
Dear Mark, for the most part, our recent trip to China turned out quite well. The help you gave us with the MSG Notice was appreciated. I had it laminated and used it every time we ate out. It worked quite a bit of the time but not always. The quality of guides did vary but most were Ok and several were outstanding. Helen, Sunny, Ning and Jessica come to mind. The best ones picked up on our interests and showed us things not on the itinerary. We enjoyed Suzhou, particularly the new I. M. Pei Museum which we would rate outstanding even though the quantity of art on display was limited. The building was just terrific as were the graphics and displays. It should be added to the itinerary of future visitors to Suzhou.
We must compliment you on Michael, our Beijing contact. He was always helpful, he always knew who was calling before I identified myself, he was very responsive and got back to us quickly when changes were being considered. We always felt he could be depended upon to meet our needs.
We were pleased with the guidance and service you provided. The quality of accommodations was significantly higher than we are accustomed to but we enjoyed the luxury after each day's touring. We were amazed to have had refrigerators in all but a few rooms. Locations were outstanding. We have never had such hard beds, almost every night, but that must be the custom. Guess we finally got used to it.
Feel free to use us as a reference if you encounter travelers like us who like to go independently and aren't quite sure they can handle a guide and driver all the time.
Again, let us express our appreciation for your services.
Stuart
& Reena D---Oregon, USA (Private, October 2006)
We returned from our China trip on Friday night, and although are still fighting the jet lag and time change, feel it is all worth it. Everything about the trip was just great! Our guides, accommodations, itinerary, sights and food all exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much for providing a wonderful experience! If you ever need a reference for your services, please call me - I would be more than happy to give your company an excellent review!
P. & T. Maher---Pennsylvania,
USA (Private, October 2006)
Access China Tours is the BEST! I had a wonderful experience and enjoyed all that I saw and did. Your organization is fantastic! Thank you so very much.
Barbara H---California, USA (HGT, October 2006)
We really have enjoyed this day in Dunhuang and certainly will highly recommend this to others as a worthwhile stop. Tony, the local guide, has been great and the hotel is most pleasant. We did the camel ride out to the sand dunes this morning which was fun - I last rode a camel in Dubai and it was not a particularly pleasant experience but this time, it was quite an easy ride and I am happy we did it.
The food has also been a highlight of the trip. We have been taken to great restaurants - both large and small - and had wonderful meals. We are keeping the courses down to 3 or 4 but enjoying almost every dish.
So that is the update for now - your representatives are all doing a great job. I am amazed at the changes in the Chinese highway system in the last 3 years - lot more divided highways than the last trip.
Greg & Nancy M---British Columbia, Canada

We think you should certainly advertise your tours for families. We are passing your contact details to families who have learned of our experiences. This was a great experience in China for us...... It was equally interesting for the adults as well as the children.
All of the guides were excellent with the children and actively involved them during the sightseeing. However, we must give special mention to Sunny in Beijing and John in Huangshan who were both exemplary. They freely opened up about their personal experiences of growing up in China, so that we could gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and way of life. John invited us into a village where we could see firsthand how farmers live. This was especially interesting to the children who could appreciate that life can be hard in rural China, and value the quality of life we enjoy in Canada.
Thank you for a wonderful holiday and experience.
David W & Chris D---Alberta, Canada (Private,
July 2006) It was a great trip and we had a
wonderful time. We were really impressed with the quality of
hotels and the sites we visited. Only one thing I would like to
suggest. The first day of our trip was a long (train) trip with
little to see because so much was through tunnels. A better choice
would have been a plane flight. Adding Jiuzhaigou at the end was a good idea because it
provided a contrast to the historic sites, large cities, and rural areas.
Again-spectacular. A. Sager---California,
USA (ONC, June 2006) We had an amazing time in China. Access China Tours
did an outstanding job organizing our trip. Michael, the trip manager in
Beijing, is very professional and responsive. He coordinated all details and
provided last minute trip arrangement for Shanghai and Hong Kong. The drivers
and tour guides were very good. We spent 3 wonderful weeks in China according
to our family interests and pace thanks to Access China Tours. We will
definitely return and will recommend your company to our friends. M/M Williams---Pennsylvania, USA (Private, June 2006) We were completely happy with all accommodations.
The Grand Hotel Beijing and The Westin (Shanghai) were our favorites but
everything was comfortable and we were delighted with this aspect of the
trip. We loved seeing people doing exercise in the park of Temple of
Heaven. I wish we had more time in Shanghai-another day or two. One day
was not enough. This was the most interesting and best organized
vacation we ever took. You are great. We have already recommended
you to many people. J & J Levine---New York, USA (HGP, April 2006) Yes, flights were all good, great experience, good
organization, and overall I would do it again. We have done many
individual tours around the world and this was one of the best. Harold G & Elma S --- Hawaii, USA (private YZ3, May
2006) You did exactly what I needed – took care of all the
logistics so I could focus completely on the research I needed to do.
Every place I went someone was waiting for me & then “delivered” me to
wherever I needed to be. There appeared to be a slight hitch in
Chongqing, but it was resolved within ˝ hour…… More than anything, however, I
want to emphasize that the service you provided before and throughout the
trip was excellent. As a result, I was able to “extract” from my time
in China the absolute maximum. Thank you! E Nelson --- Massachusetts, USA (modified YZ3, May 2006) Outstanding feature of 3 week trip because we got to
see 1) a major world river and the people & culture along it; 2) largest
water conservancy project in human history, and 3) chance to relax a
bit. Balance of time allocation was good; efficient movement between
airport and hotels and sightseeing venues. Guides were flexible,
allowed us to add, drop venues on the go; well-designed, well-paced tour
package; highly responsible guides – no problem with language; food all
good. This was an outstanding three-week; many lasting memories. K & M McKinley --- Oklahoma, USA (Private, April 2006) Cherry, the trip was all I thought and more - I'm still amazed that I
actually walked on the great wall, saw the terracotta warriors, and cruised
on the Li River. The sharing with Liz was fun and educational; I know we'll
keep in touch-thanks for the pairing. Food was smashing - so much better
than anything in NYC; my kids tell me that other US cities are better; I've
been raving to everyone........all the restaurants were inspired choices. I
ate Chinese breakfast everyday at the hotels too. Guides: as you must know,
Sunny in Beijing is excellent; in Suzhou, Wang was a fine combination of
language teacher, historian, and friendly companion........Thanks for
all. J Chillrud --- New York, USA (HGR, May 2006) Dear Cherry &
Access China Staff: just wanted to report our great satisfaction with the
Yangzi, Hangzhou & Golden Route tour we just
completed. Jason is a real asset to your
organization. He was well organized, always early for
appointments, detail oriented, good humored & flexible with our
requests. He was a great source of information & a lot of
fun. If there were glitches in the program we were not aware, as
he handled business quietly & professionally. The tickets were
always ready, the baggage handled on time, the guides & drivers prepared
& on time & when circumstances required slight changes in daily
schedules they were handled as routine. We will be recommending Access China to our friends & plan
to travel again with you. M & K Smith ---
Macau (YZ3, October 2005) Dear Mark, I do appreciate hearing
from you about the refund (on the purchase we made in China). I must tell you
how impressed I am with your tour company. Both Cherry and Mr. Zheng have
been most professional and very responsive to our travel needs. I would
without hesitation most highly recommend your company to anyone who plans to
travel to the Far East. I do hope you have received your tour survey that I
completed after returning from China. Thank you. D
& B Cooper --- Virginia, USA (HGL, August 2005) As noted by the enclosed comments, our experience with your tour has
been exceptional, in almost everyway. The selection of sites and
activities was excellent, and your tour guides were friendly, involved,
knowledgeable, and helpful in everyway. They met us upon arrival at
airport, and were there when we left. They took care of all of our needs
in-between, and almost tucked us in beds on several occasions…. Our trip with
Access China Tours was excellent, and one I would not hesitate to recommend
it to others. L & S Simpson---California,
USA (YZ3, July 2005) Having upgraded to the Shangri-la
suite made our trip, service was excellent—87 passengers, 109 crew, you can
imagine they pampered us. It was very relaxing and we met some very
nice people. That made it also fun. We
enjoyed taking the boat to HK Island and back and then watching the laser
show on the promenade, a very enjoyable evening, then late tappas meal at our
hotel, made me feel young again!! Guides were great and very responsive to our needs, also
every driver was excellent. I think you are doing a good job, just keep
it up. B & G Ontiveros---Illinois,
USA (YZ3-Plus, July 2005) Excellent service – knowledgeable staff, good tour guides, ability to
put together custom tours for varying interests. Already recommended
Access China Tours to several friends and family members. Terry W. & Lin
J.---California, USA (Private Trip, July 2005) We loved our trip – Shanghai & Hong Kong were impressive; the river
cruises were wonderful; the history of the emperors & dynasties is
incredible. We got a great mix of the old and the new and hope China
can preserve more of the old to show how people desire to live on the land
& rivers. Definitely!!<recommend Access China Tours> You
did a great job of providing breaks between the large cities with the more
relaxed cruises & towns. The guides were all very good. Too much
food!! The hotels overall were excellent in great locations. You
provided a great itinerary to follow... Thank so much for a memorable
experience. K & C Raabe---Wisconsin, USA
(Private Trip, June 2005) We write to tell you that our trip to China was successful. All guides
were excellent, although one guide stands out-Jenny in Xi’an. She paid
careful and caring attention to Kay who had come down with a flu-like virus
with fever and almost complete loss of appetite. We re-organized our
time/activities in Xi’an so that Kay could spend 1-1/2 days in bed. Jenny
worked closely with us to make that happen. Every site we visited was wonderful. We were most awestruck
by the beauty of the Great Wall at Jinshanling, and we learned a great deal
from the Nanjing Museum as well as the Shanghai Museum. Special treats for us
included the tea museum in Hangzhou and enjoying the tea ritual with our
guide in Shanghai. Our favorite hotels in China were the St. Regis and both
Shangri-la hotels. The Grand Hyatt in Shanghai was stunning but not as
comfortable as our favorites. Of course, the Peninsula in Hong Kong was
exquisite. Restaurants offering in hotels ranged from okay to
excellent. Excellent included the Italian restaurant in the Shanghai Hyatt
and breakfast buffets at all hotels. We
thank you for organizing a meaningful travel experience for us and would
recommend Access China Tours to friends. The only suggestion we have is that you emphasize the
importance of bringing plenty of medicines along, including over the counter
drugs such as Tylenol. It is almost impossible to buy basic Western medicines
in cities outside Beijing and Shanghai. Thanks so much. Kay V. & Paul B.---New York,
USA (Private Trip, June 2005) I’m sorry that I have not completed the lengthy evaluation form that
you send us after our trip in June/July so I wanted to write and let you know
how it was. It was great! We had a wonderful time and really thank you for the quality of our arrangements. In particular we were very very satisfied with our guides. Specifically our Tibetan guide in Gansu Province was absolutely wonderful. For us it really was the trip of a lifetime. We both agreed that we would never have been able to travel in the remote areas without this kind of tour. We learned a tremendous amount and saw just an unbelievable amount.
Hotel accommodation was fine- most of the time great. I should note that hotels in the Tibetan areas were at times pretty poor (in particular in Langmusi where we were afraid that the hotel bed had bugs and did not seem clean). However, we knew that much of the Tibetan area was off the beaten track and it was really the most fascinating part of the trip. Again our guide was just fabulous.
The only piece of advice I would urge you to consider is to tell people to have their own cell phone, particularly in more remote areas, if they are traveling without a tour manager as we did. Our challenges pretty much all came when we were traveling and between guides.
Mr.
Zheng by the way was great—very responsive and easy to reach once we had
scored a cell phone. And overall we found the tour service to be very
concerned about us. Food was
wonderful-we had no problems with sickness. Again our guides were most
helpful in ordering. If we had eaten all they wanted to order for us we would
have gained a ton of weight. We had to slow them down! If you have any questions just let us know. Again the trip
was wonderful and we have highly recommended your service to several people. Madeline
L. & Doug J.---Washington, USA (ONC plus, June 2005) Hi Cherry, We had a wonderful time and your tour guides, drivers and
accommodations exceeded our lofty expectations. I will complete the
customer sat questionnaire and get it back up to you folks within the next
week… Please add us to your reference list if that would be of help for
you. Much thanks and we look forward to returning to China
someday. W. Schaub --- California, USA
(Private Trip, June 2005) It’s always a pleasure
working with you because you answer questions promptly and offer excellent
information. Once again, the hotels met our expectations and were
consistently a pleasure to visit. Your connection (with local
operators) is an effective one – in two years’ worth of trips, all of our guides
have been excellent: well-informed, personable, engaging, and articulate. As
was the case last year, I was glad that you left certain days open, as it
allowed us to schedule in some great opportunities (to visit a TCM center in
Qingdao; to see the Mengzi sites; to visit a Buddhist Temple near Old Zhoucun
town; etc.). Thanks again, Mark! Another memorable trip and many new
friends. S. Sondergard –NY, USA (private, May 2005) Thanks for last minute help in
translating some key words for us into Chinese! Used this list many
times when on our own. Guide in Hotan helped to get us to a new market
each day—spoke Uygur and asked our questions to people and translated for us,
took great care of us in markets with the crush of people, motorcycles,
horses with carts. The tour
followed the itinerary with good hotels, guides, SUV in each area.
Every guide was waiting for us in the airport even if the plane was
late. We appreciated it! They helped us get airline seats and
waited till we passed the X-ray area. If new areas in China open up for
tourists and the areas are not too western and modern, but more old world,
please let us know for a future trip. We had a most wonderful adventure
with exciting memories of all the people we met and areas we visited.
Your company gave us a joyful Chinese trip, once again! Thank you. D
& S Siegel --- New York, USA (Private, May 2005) Unfailingly patient with all our questions and concerns and reliably
responsive. Also found you knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. Excellent
choices, able to go at our own pace—spend as much time at sites we preferred
– opportunity to visit local families and meet and speak with local people as
well as our guides. Thank you for such a wonderful adventure! A & J Schwager ---
New York, USA (private, May 2005) We find it
very difficult to truly express our pleasure of our China tour by just making
check marks. The hotels cannot really
be compared to each other since they were all so very different. One cannot expect the same from five star
hotels to some which were probably considered three star, but may have been
our favorites and most memorable.
The guides also were uniquely different and each added something very
special to our experience. Lily, At Access China, was our contact person. She was always very available and promptly
returned our phone calls. We enjoyed
the list of suggested reading material that Access China provided. We booked our own international flight and were
thrilled when we immediately found our guide. Luke, our guide was just as relieved in finding us as we were
to find him. I believe we flew Air
China four times and were very impressed with the beautiful modern airports,
check-in services and all departures were on time. Our favorite hotels were inside the walls in Pingyao
where we slept on a big Chinese platform bed, and the Labrang Hotel in Xiahe,
which were cottages made to look like Tibetan tents. They didn’t offer hot
water all the time and the heat was a bit spotty but we wouldn’t have traded
them for anything else. Our guide in Datong, Mt. Wutai, Taiyuan and Pingyao
was Mrs. Wang and our driver was Mr. Mah. Both were absolutely great. In
terms of service and friendliness one could not ask for anything more. Mrs. Wang spoke English very well, had
something like 27 years of experience and was the consummate guide…… I’m sorry that other than Mr. Mah I don’t remember
the names of the other drivers. All of them did an excellent job and kept
their vans clean and in good order.
The driver who worked with Raphael in Xiahe, driving up and down the
mountain, and taking us to the airport deserves special mention. The driving
situation was very difficult. This trip to China was all that Lily promised. We would certainly recommend Access China
Tours to a friend and would be pleased to be a reference whenever we could be
of help. Thank you again for such a
successful experience.
M. Maryanov --- California, USA (ONC, May 2005) Hi Cherry,
this is E. Meiselman. We got home last night. We just wanted to
tell you that the trip was not good, not fantastic, but extraordinary.
We had the best time ever... The guides were great, the food was
tremendous, and we can’t wait to go again... We thank you for all that
you did for us. We loved it and we can’t stop raving about it. We just
loved China. Thank you again... We can be of any service to tell
people about the trip. We certainly will. If you ever need us for
recommendations, please don’t hesitate to call us.
E. Meiselman --- New York, USA (Private Trip, May 2005) Because we were only two
people in the group, the time allocations were very flexible. (Would you
recommend Access China Tours to a friend?) Yes, easy pre-departure preparation.
Everything in China was well communicated between Access China and all
vendors in China. V. Klocke --- Oregon USA (HGR, April 2005) Best tour
we have taken, firstly because of size – 6 people attended by 2
guides. The guides were responsive to special requests, very
knowledgeable. C & D
Snow --- New York, USA (HGP, March 2005)
