Day 2 Shanghai
Begin your China vacation with a visit to the Bund after
breakfast. This splendid row of classic European buildings speaks of colonial control and
a flourish of trade and commerce with western countries in the first half of the 20th
century.
Acknowledged as an architectural miracle, Yuyuan Garden is
a well-restored Suzhou-style garden that was created by a Ming Dynasty official in 1559.
Move on to the marvelous Shanghai Museum, whose galleries
contain world-class collections of ancient arts and artifacts. |

Day 3 Shanghai n Suzhou
Take a full-day excursion to Suzhou. Visit two of Suzhou's
many classical gardens - Wangshi Garden and Zhuozheng Garden.
Also tour the Suzhou Museum, a newly opened art museum designed by the world
famous architect Dr. I. M. Pei.
Return to Shanghai in the afternoon and board the
Victoria cruise ship for the Welcome Banquet and begin the exciting
9-day Yangzi River voyage.

Day 4 Yangzi Cruise
- Nanjing
After the first night's sailing, your ship docks in
Nanjing, capital of China from 1911-1949. Disembark and join your
guide for a tour of the Memorial of Dr. Sun Yatsen,
founding father of modern China. Later explore the Qing Dynasty
style Qinhuaihe Bazaar surrounding a Confucius Temple.
Return back to the ship late afternoon and continue
sailing on the mighty Yangzi.

Day 5 Yangzi Cruise
- Huangshan
Step ashore and travel by vehicle to the famous
Yellow Mountain through some of the country's most scenic
rural areas. Ascend by cable car to the peaks to experience
the beauty of this royal retreat since ancient times.

Day 6 Yangzi Cruise
- Wuhan
Your ship arrives in Wuhan by late afternoon and you
are invited to join a city tour that includes a visit to Hubei
Provincial Museum.

Full day sailing through the central plains of Yangzi
River where severe flooding often occurs in the summer.

- The Dam
After a full night's sailing, arrive at Yichang and
take a morning excursion to the Three Gorges Dam, the
world's largest hydroelectric project and the newest attraction on the
Yangzi River. Sail through the Three Gorges Shiplocks
and the first gorge - Xiling Gorge.

- The Gorges
The extraordinary Three Gorges of the
Yangzi River, featuring towering peaks and sheer cliffs, began to
form 70million years ago when two mountain ranges collided and the river began to erode
the gorges to their present state.
Sail through the Qutang and Wu Gorges, each having its own
visual power. Discover the hidden charm in the Lesser Gorges by boating on
the fabled Daning River.

10 Yangzi Cruise - Baidicheng
The appeal of the Yangzi lies not only in its natural beauty but also in
the cultural and historical significance the river has embedded in the nearby towns and
villages. Your port of call today is either Baidicheng or Wanxian
depending on the docking conditions. Both towns have a rich history and interesting local
culture.
A Farewell Banquet and Talent Show tonight
lead to a climax of your Yangzi experience.

Day 11 Chongqing g Shanghai
Cruise ends in Chongqing. After breakfast,
you are picked up by your local guide and transferred to the airport
for the flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, transfer to your
hotel and balance of the day is free.
